About
Yusuf Bakhresa, the General Manager of Bakhresa Group, has always enjoyed local football. As a hobby, he has assisted numerous footballers in securing opportunities to advance their careers in Europe. With his passion for football as his driving force, he formed one of Tanzania’s most prestigious football teams in 2004, Azam Football Club.
Our aim was straightforward: to establish a football team capable of competing in Tanzania’s top-tier competition. Initially, the squad gathered employees from Said Salim Bakhresa Company Limited to play football in their spare time. Eventually, we began recruiting Tanzania’s finest players to form a team worthy of competing in the Tanzanian Mainland Premier League.
Since its inception, Azam Football Club, has known success after success. We have joined and maintained our place in the Tanzanian League since 2008/2009. Our star-studded and young players are a force to reckon in the domestic league and we currently have a strong team who recently won the Tanzania Mainland Under 20 Premier League trophy.
The Bakhresa Group has a world-class stadium in Chamazi, Dar Es Salaam. The multi-million-dollar stadium has a sand pitch training field, a contemporary swimming pool, a gym, and an artificial turf playing field. The stadium also has a modern hostel with self-contained rooms.
The Club’s shared vision is to strive for excellence both inside and outside of the pitch, while remaining the football’s leader in the United Republic of Tanzania.
