Azam –Fruit Juice Processing Division Profile:
Bakhresa Food Products Ltd (BFPL) has got state of the art fruit and vegetable processing plant of 150 tons per day capacity from Fratelli Indelicate and FBR-ELPO, Italy to process wide range of locally grown fruits and vegetables that include Mango, Pine Apple, Orange, Guava, Passion fruit, Tomato etc.
At BFPL, the choicest fruits are selected, inspected, sorted, washed and then taken to the ripening chambers where they are ripened in a uniform manner under controlled conditions to maintain the color, flavor and taste. The ripened fruits are then thermally processed and aseptically packed in pre-sterilized high barrier bags to retain the natural taste, flavor, color and aroma of the fruit.
The process of manufacture passes through frequent & stringent quality checks for physical, chemical, organoleptic and microbiological parameters and immediate corrective measures are carried out on detection of variance in parameters. The tests are carried out in the in-house laboratory equipped with the latest facilities to perform all necessary tests.
The fruit pulp produced is packed in aseptic bags of 210 Ltrs, which is further packed in a drum.
The BFPL Fruit juice processing plant is the first indigenous aseptic packing facility for fruit juices in Tanzania. The plant has a capacity of packing 41 million liters per annum. The product range includes Apple, Azamto (Black currant fruit juice drink), Mango, Orange, Pineapple, Guava, Mango Orange Guava (mix fruit juice drink) and a blend of Apple and Black currant juice.
This is Tanzania’s first food plant certified with ISO 22000 by URS, UK. ISO 22000 includes HACCP. The high quality processing equipment supplied by world renowned manufacturers enables retaining the taste and Aroma of fruits of Tanzania at its best. The process employed ensures best retention of nutrients and originality of the fruit juice. The products are also fortified with Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid).
