Bakhresa Donates 10 Metric tons of Flour to Local Communities in Drought hit Mchinga Province in Lindi, Southern Tanzania.

The Bakhresa Group as part of its corporate social responsibility program has donated 10 Metric tons of Flour to Local Communities in Drought hit Mchinga Province in Lindi, Southern Tanzania.

The Maize flour was delivered to 10 of the worst hit provincial communities to assist with food shortages due to a lack or rains during the rainy season which subsequently created a shortage in the food supply available to these communities.

The Bakhresa Group is committed to providing community support in the markets in which we operate. The livelihood, wellness and nutrition of the communities in which we serve are a top priority and the initiative was taken to ensure that the Bakhresa Group supports these communities through times of difficulty, drought and hunger.
The following drought hit communities received Maize flour donations.

  • Mchinga I
  • Mchinga II
  •  Ruvu
  • Mnang’ole
  • Malo
  •  Dimba
  • Mvuleni ‘A’
  •  Mvuleni ‘B’
  •  Kijiweni
  • Kilolambwani

 

The flour donations were received by the community leaders and have been distributed among the community members to provide a stopgap between now and their next harvest.
